About this item
Vintage half chaps - perfect for a day of riding herd and going through brush. These half chaps have a single buckled strap that fits just above the knee, made of a good quality suede leather in a beautiful russet color.
These half chaps were hand made by R. S. Giles of Virginia City, Montana. We believe these were made in the 1930s but we have not been able to verify.
The yoke is hand tooled and stamped with the same tooling on the bottom patch that includes Giles' maker's mark. Brass dots line the bottom and and halfway up the side in addition to around the bottom leather patch.
These are a rare find. While they have been used, we would say that use was minimal.
